Gregg Perry, Head Coach

Bio

Coach Perry is entering his 7th season as head coach of the Jaguars. He has compiled a 209–60 record through 2007 including six straight district titles, three north state championships (2002, 2006, and 2007) and one state championship (2002).

Coach Perry came to Madison Central after a two-year stint at Winona High School (09–01). He also served as an assistant coach at Madison Central from 1997–99.

Coach Perry is a native of Maben, MS where he attended high school through 1987. He then transferred to Madison Ridgeland High School and graduated in 1989. Coach Perry attended ECCC from 1989–91 where he was a member of the ECCC baseball team as a starting pitcher. He also was a key member of the ECCC golf team. He continued his education at Belhaven College where he was a member of both the Blazer baseball and golf teams.

After finishing college, Coach Perry taught for 3 years in Madison County Schools and was the assistant baseball coach at MCHS.

Coach Perry credits a lot of his success to his father, Larry Perry, whose idea of working hard for what you get has always stuck with him. Another influence in Coach Perry's life would be Jamie Clark, his junior college baseball coach, who taught him the importance of communication with your players and allowing them to have fun while playing.

Coach Perry is married to the former Diann Ingram and they have one son, Matthew.
