Description:

Chemistry provides the student with an overview of the properties and reactions of matter. Major areas of study include: metric system, scientific notations, symbols, formulas and nomenclature, chemical equations, stoichiometry, energy transformation, gas laws, kinetic molecular theory, oxidation-reduction reactions, electrochemistry, and atomic theory. A laboratory component will enable the student to directly observe chemical reactions and verify chemical theories.
