An overall goal of the General
Music course is to assist all students to respond emotionally
and intelligently to a wide range of music representative
of many styles and cultures. In order to achieve this end,
students acquire understanding of basic musical concepts and
vocabulary, knowledge of music theory and listening, performing,
creating, and critiquing. These knowledges and skills serve
the purpose of helping students gain an understanding of,
and respect for, the role and importance of music in their
lives. |
