Letter from PTO Co-Presidents
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Ann Smith Elementary! The year has gotten off to a great start. We have enjoyed getting to know many of you already. ASE has much to offer your child, and we hope you and your family feel welcome here.
Academically, at ASE your child will learn to read through group and individualized instruction, build a strong math and problem-solving foundation through the new
math curriculum: Everyday Math. Students will also explore other content areas through themed studies. With the induction of the Common Core Curriculum, our students will be well on their way toward a path of academic success. Our principal and staff recognize that these early years of formal education are critical to future success.
The staff at ASE is second to none. Mrs. Rigsby knows how to attract and keep the best teachers. We could brag on their academic degrees and additional certification, but what sets this staff apart is their teamwork, commitment to high academic standards, and genuine caring for each and every child. ASE has an excellent mix of veteran teachers and younger teachers, blending time-tested teaching strategies and newer methodologies.
ASE has high expectations for behavior. The school counselor and the entire staff promote positive character development both through the Super Titans character-education program and everyday classroom procedures.
Parents receive timely information on their child’s academic progress, behavior and curricular goals throughout the school year. In addition, teachers are always available for scheduled conferences either by phone or in person.
It’s a great day to be an ASE Titan!
