Helpful Information

School Health Program:
To participate in our school's health program, which includes health education and basic screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and first aid care as needed, you must first download and fill out the following form:

Medication Policy:
The Madison County School District requires that all students who require prescription or non‐prescription medication(s) during school hours must do the following:

Present this written consent form signed by the parent/guardian and completed by a physician to the school office: Medication Permission Request Form.
Parent/guardian must bring original prescription bottle, properly labeled by a legally registered pharmacist. Each school will have designated personnel (Nurse Sims) who will be dispensing the medication(s) to your child. At the end of the school year, parents will need to pick up any medications that are in Nurse Sims' office. For the safety of our children, we will NOT send home any medication with our students.

Reducing the Spread of Germs:
To reduce the spread of germs this year, here are some suggestions for keeping your child healthy:

Get your child's flu shot in the fall, as soon as it is available.
Encourage your child to wash his or her hands often, using soap and warm water, or hand sanitizer.
Don't send your child to school if he or she has a temperature of more than 100.4 degrees, is vomiting or has diarrhea. Your child must be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.
Please consider sending items like Lysol wipes, Kleenex tissue and hand sanitizer to your child's teacher during the cold and flu season. Our teachers and staff do their best to reduce the spread of germs and would be grateful for your contributions.

Healthy Snacks:
Please be sure to send a healthy snack to school for your child every day. Sodas, candy bars and chips are not allowed. Healthy snacks include fruits and vegetables, granola bars, Goldfish, animal crackers, trail mix, string cheese, pretzels, etc. Help us encourage our students to develop healthy lifestyles at an early age!
