Mac's Fresh Market Foods
Mac’s Fresh Market Foods at School Street on Hwy 51 has begun a community Partners Program. Each time you shop there, you will be given one stamp for every $5 you spend. These stamps can be affixed to Madison Central’s card, which will be kept at Mac’s. Once the card is filled with stamps Mac’s will issue MC a check. Your participation in this program will help us buy needed equipment and supplies for our classroom. Thanks for your support.

Dear Parent or Guardian:
This week we are studying the character trait of excellence.
The definition of excellence is: |
|
being extremely good; of great worth; first class;
and superior in quality. |
From the Academy Awards to the Olympics, from the Congressional Medal
of Honor to the Nobel Peace Prize, we have many ways to recognize and
reward excellence. However, it is important to teach our children that
even though a book is on the best-seller list or a movie is a sell-out
at the box office, that doesn't mean it is necessarily superior in quality.
Conversely, just because someone's artwork didn't win the prize or the
team member came in second, doesn't mean his or her efforts weren't first
class.
If you would like to participate in the reinforcement of what we are
studying this week in character education, here are some ideas for you
and your student to work on together:
| |
Discuss with your son or daughter your family's
standards for excellence. How are they the same as society's standards?
How are they different? |
| |
Decide on an area in which your family would like
to achieve excellence. Examples might include keeping each member's
own space clean and orderly, forming a family band and performing
in front of an audience, or some other effort. Make a poster to
chart your progress on the goal you've set. |
| |
Hold a family activity night to share your most
excellence achievements: artwork, cooking, athletic skills, musical
talents, or other events. Give everyone an opportunity to share
his or her best efforts and award each a prize or ribbon of excellence. |
"Whatever is worth doing at all, is worth doing well."
