Mac's Fresh Market Foods
Mac’s Fresh Market Foods at School Street on Hwy 51 has begun a community Partners Program. Each time you shop there, you will be given one stamp for every $5 you spend. These stamps can be affixed to Madison Central’s card, which will be kept at Mac’s. Once the card is filled with stamps Mac’s will issue MC a check. Your participation in this program will help us buy needed equipment and supplies for our classroom. Thanks for your support.

Dear Parent or Guardian:
This week we are studying the character trait of resourcefulness.
Definitions of resourcefulness include: |
|
ingenuity; imagination; and inventiveness. |
Resourcefulness is the ability to find ideas within ourselves to solve
our own problems. You can help your son or daughter develop this trait
by modeling the correct behavior. When you have a setback in some aspect
of your life, discuss this, if appropriate, with your youngster. How you
deal with such difficulties will go a long way toward teaching your youngster
the appropriate responses.
If you would like to participate in the reinforcement of what we are
studying this week in character education, here are some ideas for you
and your student to work on together:
| |
Teach your teenager to think of resources he or she
has available to him or her. This helps when determining solutions
for problems. Resources are talents and skills you have, as well
as other tools like determination. |
| |
Verbalize your student's problem in order to put
it into perspective and give him or her a chance to think about
ways he or she can solve the predicament. |
| |
Help your youngster to not make rash decisions. Sleeping
on a problem will sometimes help it mend itself; if not; at least
he or she can make a clear-headed choice. |
"The difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones
is how you use them."
